Even though this weather is unpredictable, winter has officially ended, and we can now get excited about the warmer months! Start Spring by shaking off the winter blues with some of these events, from new art exhibits, a hilarious comedian, and nostalgic movies coming to life with a live concert.

 

Blue Rodeo

With 35 years of performing, Blue Rodeo, are coming to the NAC and performing their 16th studio album!

Along with Brittany Brooks and Jimmy Bowskill of the Sheepdogs, see the classic rock band sing some of their most memorable songs along with new music from their new album.

Shapes in Between Exhibition

Looking for something to do on the weekends? Take a day with your friends or yourself and see some breathtaking and beautiful artwork.

This retrospective exhibition highlights the work of Ottawa-based artist Norman Takeuchi. Together, an array of drawings, paintings, and prints spanning the years 1961 to 2022 demonstrate the continuity of his artistic rigour. These works also make known the artist’s personal engagement with the impact of the Japanese Canadian internment and forced dispersal during World War II, and ultimate acceptance of his cultural heritage.

Powwow Life Drawing

Capture the beauty of powwow dances and culture on paper at the National Arts Centre. Bring your favourite materials and create drawings that capture both the movements of the dance and the beautiful clothing worn by the dancer. 

This event happens once every month and  is FREE for artists that identify as intermediate to advanced.
