The SoundScape Festival

A new festival has arrived in Ottawa taking place from August 27th to September 26th underneath the Plaza Bridge in the heart of Ottawa’s Original Downtown.

The SoundScape Festival is a new immersive music and arts festival that has 3 signature events and an ambient installations giving visitors the chance to experience SoundScape all month long! The festival runs primarily in the evening after 4PM for the installations and after 7PM for the signature events. This is all so the lighting of the festival is the main focus.

Their signature events all feature artists that range from a 30 person choir to a Canadian rapper to an Indigenous drum group and Ojibwe dancer sharing their culture through movement song and stories.

Their Schedule is at follows:

August 27th: Free Event

8PM: Tone Cluster – A 30 member choir.

9PM: OK Naledi – A 3 member high energy Afro-Fusion project.

10PM: Puppy Sierna – Colombian artist blending electronic music and guaracha rhythms.

September 12th: Ticketed Event

7PM: Emma Garbriel – A soulful, atmospheric, and emotionally captivating R&B artist.

8PM: Cadence Weapon – Canadian rapper blending sharp lyricism with indie experimentation.

9:30PM: The Halluci Nation – Indigenous duo blending hip-hop, powwow, and electronic music.

September 26th: Free Event

6:45PM:

Ryan Stec – An Ottawa based artist.

Lucas Verreman – A French artist.

8:00PM:

Randy Kakegamick – An Ojibway-Cree artist, grass dancer, singer, storyteller, and drummer. 

Amanda Fox – An Ojibwe dancer sharing culture through movement, stories, and song.

SpiritWolf Singers – An Indigenous drum group preserving songs, teachings, and tradition.

Layla Staats – Indigenous singer-songwriter blending folk, pop, and activism.

9PM: Bytown Sea Shanty Collective – A local Ottawa group bringing traditional sea shanties to life.

10PM: Hollerado – Canadian indie rock legends known for energetic, catchy anthems.

All Ambient Installations are on nights that do not have a signature event from 4PM – 11PM
