It’s that time of the year again. The days are getting shorter and students everywhere are preparing themselves to head back to class. To help you make the most of the last days of summer, we’ve compiled a list of incredible events that you won’t want to miss.

 

Chef’s Table

Immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind Canadian cuisine experience from the National Art Centre’s Resident Chef Program, presented by the Festival of Small Halls. The Chef’s Table is a farm-to-table feast with menus curated by Canadian chefs. You will be served a three-course meal with wonderful, live music alongside the Rideau Canal. This unique culinary experience produced by world-class chefs will be unlike any other and will creative memories that last a lifetime!

Northern Lights 2022

The summer Sound and Light show on Parliament Hill continues for two more weeks!

The show is FREE to attend and projects light and moving photos onto the Parliament Buildings. Spectators will discover Canada’s greatest achievements and history milestones. This year, Canada is celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, marking her 70th anniversary on the Throne. The Northern Lights 2022 show will feature captivating images in honour of this milestone. 

Just steps away from Rideau Street, make an evening of it and stop by one of the many beloved restaurants Downtown Ottawa has to offer. Cheers to the weekend by grabbing a drink at Milestones, indulge in Happy Hour Truffle Parmesan Fries at JOEY Rideau, or have a truly Canadian moment with poutine from Smoke’s Poutinerie.

Pride Pageant

 

 

This is the drag event of the summer! Do you know what it takes to be crowned Capital Pride royalty? Come and find out for yourself! 

The event will feature Ottawa’s beloved local favourite Ms, Mr, and Mx contestants. At the Pride Pageant, you will be able to cheer on your favourite Pride beauties on the big stage as they showcase their talent, looks, walks, and struts.  

This fun experience will be hosted by Ms. Capital Pride Adrianna Exposée. The judging panel will be composed of Icesis Couture, Hollywood Jade, Cyril Cinder and Kiki Coe. Special performances will be put on by Shea D Ladie, Saltina Shake, and Bella DuMaurier.

One thing is certain: this pageant will be showstopping!

Can’t make it to the Pride Pageant? Come out and enjoy the Capital Pride Parade on Sunday August 28 from 1 to 3 pm. This year the Pride Parade will be led by Grand Marshal Icesis Couture, Youth Marshal Gillian Welsh, and Honoured Group Capital Rainbow Refuge. Over 200 groups, and 5,000 marchers are expected to proudly come together for Ottawa’s most anticipated parade!
