Innu multidisciplinary artist Katia Rock has been pursuing a career in the performing arts for over 20 years. Socially aware and engaged, she has carried out numerous research and creation projects. Her musical universe is rooted as much in the urban environment as in her home community of Uashat-Mak-Maliotenam, near Sept-Îles on the North Shore. Known for her warm, powerful and uplifting voice, she composes and performs melodies that draw from the ancestral repertoire of her people as well as from contemporary folk–rock. Her first solo album, Uapen Nuta, was released in June 2022.
