Join the OAG for Creative Sundays, a free creative drop in taking place on Sunday, October 15. Our wonderful educators will help guide you in various creative activities suitable for all ages. Discover the current exhibition with a knowledgeable gallery educator and explore your creativity with family and friends. This month: This Creative Sunday, join us in the OAG Studio from 10 am on for activities inspired by Juliane Foronda’s NOTES ON PLAY board game project for Culture Days. At 1 pm, Juliane will join Chloé Ouellet-Riendeau, (Assistant Curator of Sport History at the Canadian Museum of History) in a conversation about her project, touching on themes of nostalgia, accessibility, the responsibility of public art, and how social values are reflected in board games. Plus, you can pick up a NOTES ON PLAY postcard to take home and use! Juliane Foronda is a Filipina-Canadian artist, writer, and researcher. She created NOTES ON PLAY, a text-based installation scattering extracted board game phrases throughout the city of Ottawa. For more information visit (link to culture days map page). This project is presented as a part of the Ontario Culture Days Festival (Sept. 22 – Oct. 15, 2023), an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage taking place each fall across the province.
