We are the
Downtown Rideau BIA
A 53-block area representing over 600 thriving businesses and organizations, the main goal of the Downtown Rideau Business Improvement Area (D.R.B.I.A.) is to position the district as a high-street destination for shopping, dining, and culture. All businesses within the boundaries of this vibrant area, from east of the Rideau Canal to King Edward Avenue and south of ByWard Market from George Street to Mackenzie King Bridge are automatically members of the D.R.B.I.A. and collectively contribute to over $22 million in taxes to the city’s property tax base.
Here's what we do
The Downtown Rideau BIA brings the area’s members together for one common goal—to help our businesses thrive. Not only do we spearhead initiatives promoting Downtown Rideau on our members’ behalf, but we also play the advocacy role to help strengthen our influence when speaking to City Hall on issues that affect us all. Those range from policies and policing to traffic and street maintenance to parking and bylaws.

These are the people who respectfully represent and promote the bustling businesses of the historic Downtown Rideau area. As the backbones of the D.R.B.I.A, it’s their mission to be the strong voice for the members of the area and make them proud.
